Ms Alexis “Lexi" Wanotch began dancing at the age of 4 in ballet class with jazz, lyrical and modern classes soon added. She trained in the Royal Academy of Dance and the Canadian Dance Teachers Association syllabi, danced in the Opening and Closing ceremonies for the Canada Winter Games and the Alberta Ballet production of the ‘Nutcracker’.

Lexi has been teaching for 19 years and is a Registered Teacher with The Royal Academy of Dance (RAD), a Member of the CDTA Ballet and Stage Divisions, an Associate Member of the CDTA Modern and Acrobatics Division and a Certified Instructor in Acrobatic Arts. Ms. Lexi has taught for multiple schools in the Peace Country as well as Grant McEwan and the Edmonton City Arts Centre and was a Judge at the 2010 Northern Talent Search competition in Edmonton. She has attended numerous festivals, competitions and workshops both as a participant and an instructor throughout Alberta, BC and the U.S.A and has won awards for her choreography. She looks forward to sharing her passion for dance with all her students.


Ms. Loanne’s love of dance began when she was introduced to Ballet classes while training in competitive gymnastics. Her gymnastics training lasted 11 years, she competed both nationally and internationally, attained her level 2 coaching status and was a certified judge. At the age of 13 she decided to further her dance training, first with the The Grande Prairie School of Dance and then with the Deborah Judt School of dance where she took classes in Jazz, Lyrical and Tap. It was then that she truly fell in love with the art of dance and soon after started teaching under the mentorship of Mrs. Deborah Judt. She now has over 15 years teaching experience and truly loves sharing her passion for dance with her students. She continually aspires to further her dance education and has recently been appointed an Examiner in Training for the Canadian Dance Teachers Association. In addition to teaching dance Loanne is also a certified Massage Therapist and a Realtor.

Miss Kailey began dancing with the Troyanda Ukrainian Dancers at the age of 5 and loved dance from her first moments in the studio. She joined Across the Floor Dance Studio at the age of 13,  becoming a member of the competitive performance troupe, training in ballet, jazz, contemporary, modern and lyrical dance styles. She successfully completed dance examinations in Ukrainian dance, ballet and jazz and attended many intensive summer training programs throughout Western Canada and US giving her the chance to learn from a very talented and diverse group of instructors.

Miss Kailey is passionate about dance and is committed to pursuing a broad spectrum of instructor training opportunities. She has recently applied to the Royal Academy of Dance Ballet Teaching Studies Program; with the intention of attaining her RAD Registered Teacher Status.  She had the amazing opportunity to participate in  the Ukrainian Dance Instructor Tour for the past 3 summers;  travelling throughout Ukraine, Poland, Hungary and Romania studying dance and culture. She has attended various dance instructor workshops, conferences and programs throughout Canada and US, including UDIC, EnAvant and DanceLife. 

Miss Kailey strives to help dancers develop strong technique while encouraging teamwork and  a genuine love of dance. She is very grateful for the opportunity to teach your children and share her passion and love of dance!


Miss Janna Livingston began dancing at the age of 4 and grew up dancing in ballet, tap, jazz, lyrical, contemporary, modern, and pointe. This is her sixth year teaching with Across the Floor Dance Studio.
Janna is a certified Associate Member with the Canadian Dance Teachers Association (CDTA), Acrobatic Arts Module Certified Instructor, Progressing Ballet Technique (PBT) Certified Instructor, and has completed up to her Intermediate level in ballet exams with the Royal Academy of Dance (RAD).
Throughout her six years of teaching she has been awarded with choreography awards at local and out of town competitions. Dance is her passion and the studio has been like a second home for as long as she can remember.
As a student, Janna performed at many competitions across Alberta. She has attended numerous workshops and conventions across Canada both as a student and an instructor. During her years of dance she performed in the opening and closing ceremonies of the Arctic Winter Games and was part of the Nutcracker production cast in 2008. 
Janna is very excited for the 2018/19 season with Across the Floor Dance Studio. She is eager to continue to learn and share her passion for dance with her students for many years to come.

Krista Van den Bon

Mandi is an accomplished dance educator with 25 years of experience. As a student she trained at the Royal Winnipeg Ballet School, Walnut Hill School of Fine Arts, International School of Ballet, Alberta Ballet School, and the University of Calgary. Mandi holds her Advanced 2 RAD examination, and is an RAD registered teacher. She has a passion for higher education, with a BA in Dance (with distinction) and an LLB from the University of Calgary, as well as a Masters degree in Teaching (Dance) from the University of Surrey in London, England.

In the fall of 2015, Mandi was chosen by the Royal Academy of Dance to join their Panel of Examiners. She was successful in completing her examiner training in London, England and is now enjoying examining dance students within Canada and internationally.

In 2018, Mandi created PRIMA Dance Institute, which specializes in professional training for teachers and vocational preparation for dedicated dancers. Mandi’s education and personal drive are distinctive. Her teaching style is one that embraces achievement through hard work and dedication.

She takes pride in being a positive role model for her students, and believes the study of dance teaches invaluable life skills which are transferable to any path students may choose to follow. Mandi is eager to share her love of dance and passion for learning with her students.


Miss Krista started tap dancing at the age of 7 and quickly added a love for all types of dancing at an early age. She is trained in CDTA jazz and tap and successfully completed exams in both disciplines. As a student Krista participated in dance workshops throughout the years and also competed in numerous competitions, winning multiple outstanding and performance awards.

Krista started teaching in 2005 and demonstrated a passion for teaching tap, jazz, and hip hop specifically. She has taught a variety of levels including 8 week sessional classes for little ones, to teaching adult classes and everything in between. She took a few years off from teaching dance to complete her BSc in Kinesiology as well as the BSc in Nursing through the After-Degree program. While in Edmonton, Krista took lyrical classes at the University of Alberta and also took hip hop classes to expand her choreography style.

Krista has an energetic personality, which allows her to easily engage her students. She is excited to share her love of dance with everyone at Across The Floor Dance Studio.

Joseé Wiegel



Miss Hayley was born and raised in Grande Prairie. She started tap dancing at the age of 3, and quickly added Hip Hop, Jazz and Ballet, developing a strong love for all things dance related. She is trained in Jazz, Ballet, Tap, Lyrical, Hip Hop, and Musical Theatre.

During her student years, Hayley was able to perform at many competitions across Alberta and British Columbia. She has attended numerous workshops and conventions across Canada and the United States, including the opportunity to dance at Millennium Dance Complex in Los Angeles. During her years of dance she performed in the opening ceremonies of the Arctic Winter Games, danced on Disney Cruise Lines and was a part of Disneyland’s Dance the Magic in 2008.

Hayley has been a part of the Across the Floor Family since 2013, with 7 years of experience as an instructor. She has completed a Bachelor of Commerce and credits her love of dance for her current work in the recreation sector. She is a strong advocate for after school recreation activities, and works to give every child the best possible experience and opportunities with dance.


Joseé was raised in Grande Prairie. She started gymnastics at the age of 4. Joseé competed nationally and internationally for over 10 years. She has judged gymnastics and has continued coaching gymnastics periodically over the past 25 years. With good knowledge of gymnastics' fundamental basics, Joseé enjoys helping dancers obtain their Acro goals.

Morgan Mora

Miss Shaira started Tap dancing when she was three years old. She then starting taking classes in Ballet, Lyrical, Jazz, and Contemporary. Shaira has completed her RAD Ballet Advanced 1 exam, as well as her CDTA Jazz Intermediate exam, and her CDTA Tap Advanced exam. At the age of 8, she joined the competitive dance team, and has stayed dancing competitively until graduation. She started volunteering as a student teacher when she was 12 under Miss Tamara, Miss Katrina, and Miss Loanne. Shaira’s hope is that each dancer feels included and has fun learning everything that she is able to pass on.


Morgan Mora is a Dancer, Dance Teacher and Choreographer from Fort St John, B.C.  Morgan has spent the past few months in Australia where she danced full-time at Lee Academy exploring all styles of dance and specializing in Acro and Circus arts. Morgan has completed all of her CDTA exams and has completed the RAD exams to Advanced 1.   Morgan danced in New York and attended classes at Broadway Dance Center and Steps on Broadway and has performed as a solo artist for Team Canada in LA for World Championships of Performing Arts.  Morgan is passionate about all things art and is also a certified Special FX Makeup Artist and Nail Technician. Morgan now plans to head to Orlando FL. where she will continue dance and pursue her aspirations to become a professional dancer. Morgan is very excited to share her love and passion for dance and art.

Megan originally hails from Fort St. John, BC, where she trained in the disciplines of ballet, tap, jazz & acrobatics. At the age of 12, she began student teaching and quickly developed a love for sharing her knowledge and passion for dance. Megan has been teaching continuously since that day. She moved to Vancouver in 2005 to join the Contemporary dance company Move! The Company, and further her teaching career. Megan holds acrobatic certifications from both CDTA and Acrobatic Arts and is also an RYT certified yoga instructor. In addition, she recently became an Associate certified teacher in the Cecchetti Method of Ballet. Megan loves using a variety of fitness and cross-training methods to keep her students healthy and challenged. Megan has taught and choreographed for many studios across British Columbia and Alberta and has recently moved to Osoyoos. She always looks forward to working with the wonderful dancers at Across The Floor.


Katrina is a graduate of Canada’s National Ballet School’s Teacher Training Program. After three years of study, she graduated from the program with distinction. While at the school, she received her Registered Teacher Status with the Royal Academy of Dance (R.A.D.- R.T.S.) and has also attained her Associate for Cecchetti with distinction and her Associate for National Dance, both from the Imperial Society of Teachers of Dancing (I.S.T.D.). She also taught for the Associate Program and the Adult Program as well as assisted in the Professional Ballet Program at the school. During her time in the school, she has gained valuable experience and knowledge that equips her to competently teach and share her love for ballet. She hopes to develop young aspiring dancers into passionate artists with strong technique, grace, power, eloquence, discipline and an undying commitment for their craft.

Peyton is currently a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology student at the University of Alberta and aim to pursue a career in injury prevention and rehabilitation in dance and other sports. I danced at Across the Floor for 14 years and spent 6 years in The Academy Dance program. It was during this time that I discovered my passion for sharing dance with others and aiding in the development and growth of children. I am absolutely thrilled to be apart of the AFDS family and to be given the opportunity to work with each and every dancer. 


Chelsea Connell

Chelsea’s love of dance started at the young age of 3. She is trained in Ballet, Jazz, Tap, Lyrical, Modern/Contemporary, Hip-hop/Urban styles, Musical Theatre and Burlesque/Heels. Her dedication to dance has taken her to many places such as New York, Arizona, LA, Vancouver, and Toronto. Chelsea trained and performed in Vancouver for two years with The Dance Initiative and hip-hop/urban styles company Culturally Defined.

Some of Chelsea’s credits include the 2010 Arctic Winter Games opening ceremonies, GSG productions “Moulin:Behind the Scenes”, CFL 2014 Spirit of Edmonton breakfast held at the Sheraton Wall Centre in Vancouver and placing 3rd in World of Dance Arizona in 2018 with Eye Candy Company. 

Chelsea shares her passion by teaching and choreographing age’s young and old. She has always dreamt of having a career in the dance industry; may that be performing professionally or teaching and choreographing.
